Jet ski collision seriously injures rider

The force of the two Jet Ski's colliding caused one rider to be thrown into the water suffering injury to his ribs, ankles and hips.

Tim and his friend enjoyed jet skiing and it wasn't unusual for them to be out on a Sunday afternoon. On the day of his accident Tim had come to a halt and was stationary on the water when his friend failed to stop and crashed into his jet ski. Tim was thrown from the Jet Ski, winded, into the water.

Luckily Tim had been wearing his safety jacket which took most of the impact. Tim's friend pulled him back onto the Jet Ski and took him to hospital.

He suffered severe bruising to pelvis, ankles and legs. He had also injured his ribs and the doctors were unsure as to whether or not they were broken.

Following the accident it was over four weeks until the physical injuries healed. However the horrific flashbacks, nightmares and mood swings weren't so easily repaired. Tim is unable to concentrate for long periods of time and has lost all motivation.

As with many victims who suffer psychological injuries, they are too self-conscious to seek medical advice as they see it as a sign on weakness.

The experienced sports injuries team are investigating his case to help him gain the support he needs.
